Jim Miller


Jim Miller, III, Immediate Past President & Founder, is currently Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at the New York Film Academy College of Visual & Performing Art (NYFA). Following 16 successful years as an owner and CEO in the wholesale fashion and home furnishing sectors, Jim began his career in higher education at the Institute of International Education (IIE), where he held a variety of leadership positions including as the Executive Director of the Scholar Rescue Fund (SRF) which has saved the lives and careers of more than 1,100 at-risk scholars from 61 countries. Jim was the architect of numerous innovative programs including Camps to Campuses, Artists Protection Fund (APF), Women’s International Network (WIN), and Iraq Distance Education Program. Prior, he served as the President of Studio Art College International (SACI), in Florence, Italy. 

Jim has been working with orphaned children impacted by HIV/AIDS in Ethiopia since 1998. In addition to his work with M.O.R.E., Jim serves on several non-profit boards including the Artistic Freedom Initiative (AFI), the Totts Gap Art Institute, and the Global Coalition to Protect Education from Attack (GCPEA). Jim serves on the board of Endicott College and was recently appointed as the Interim Executive Director of the 10 ARTS Foundation.

Jim is an alumnus of Pratt Institute, Denver University, Parsons/The New School, Drake University, Santa Reparata International School of Art, Art Students League, and The Scuola Internazionale di Grafica di Venezia. He graduated with honors from Northfield Mt. Hermon (NMH).

Jim considers New York City home and has a residence in Pennsylvania. Jim is a competitive western horse rider and has a private pilot’s license. His most important job is raising his two young daughters, Estella Luz and Alba Rose.
